Scott Bolton will be signing copies of his new novel, Knifepoint, during a Garage Sale at 10317 Alexandria Street in Ventura, California on Saturday, October 19th, 2019, from 8am to noon. Copies will be available for purchase that day at a discounted price. Earlier this year, Bolton released Knifepoint, the first novel to feature his recurring private detective character Brace Heller. Knifepoint is a modern hard-boiled detective novel featuring plenty of action, intrigue, twists and turns. In addition, the book takes place completely in Ventura County, which Bolton calls home. Bolton says Knifepoint is his tribute to private detective legends Mickey Spillane and Robert B. Parker. “They were authors that made me want to read,” he says. “I hope that the adventures of Brace Heller will give readers one-tenth of the joy I got from books like I, The Jury and Small Vices.” That may indeed be the case: One reviewer said of Knifepoint: “The book was a pure joy to read. Hard to put down and filled with action! Can't wait for the next one!” Bolton grew up in Ventura County and says he can’t imagine ever living anywhere else. “Ventura is a character in Knifepoint,” he adds. “The location is as important as anything else in the book.” Although Knifepoint is the first detective novel from R. Scott Bolton, it isn’t his first published work.
